After the hurricane struck North Carolina, I felt a deep concern for the people affected. Like many across the US, I was eager for information. I turned to YouTube for updates on the terrible events. The first personal account I encountered was from a Calvary Chapel pastor in Asheville, NC. He spoke about the numerous close encounters with falling trees and how lives were spared through divine intervention. After watching his video, I felt compelled to help. I believed people might become weary of assisting and thought it would be important to go after the initial cleanup to show they were not forgotten. I felt God urging me to go! I asked my brother if he could take over the care of our parents, and he agreed without hesitation. I booked plane tickets to North Carolina from December 18th to the 31st.

I sense the Lord directing me in a specific way, to wait on His prompting and listen to His voice. As I take these steps, I am not always certain of what is next but am certain who is directing my steps. There are so many directions I could go in and many churches leading the way. I contacted the Calvary Chapel in Asheville, but I did not get a reply, and I sensed God saying I will make a way. Samaritan's purse has a strong presence, but I was not sensing God calling me there. Wait, I will direct. Don't run ahead, I will make a way. So here I am listening and waiting.
