Sweetest of Brittanys!
Sweetest of Brittanys!

In May 2024 Dorie started turning down her food. A very uncharacteristic behavior for Dorie. I tried a variety of home cooked meals to no avail. I took her to the vet and he had some guess that she had developed some kind of food sensitivity and to buy this prescription food. Well, she didn't want to eat that either, but he also prescribed some steroids to increase her appetite. All of this did get her to eat some, but it was only masking the real problem. After about a week of the new food she then began to have blood in her urine. I think something is seriously wrong with my sweet dog. And of course, those symptoms didn't reveal themselves until the weekend which meant we had to go to emergency hospital. And that night there was more activity than usual and doctor was in emergency surgery so it took three hours before we could even be seen. All the while praying that God would help me make the right decision for Dorie. When we finally got in to see him he wanted to take a scan so we could see what was going on. So after one more hour the results came back. She had a huge mass in her abdominal cavity and another mass in her bladder. He told me that the mass in the abdomen may or may not be malignant but the one in the bladder was most likely. It was pretty catastrophic, which is what I believe God's answer to me was. They let me say my goodbyes and then let her go. This is the absolute hardest part about having dogs, but not to have them is even harder!! Love you Dorie!! Miss you so much!
